ILP Design- Infographic

For this project I decided to do a infographic. I used a website called Piktochart . I made a welcome page for my made up class (11th grade social studies). I used a theme and edited it how I wanted. It was extremely easy and looks very professional. I plan to use this in the future.  I even included a spot for the students to write three goals and get the paper signed by their parent. You can check out the project here !

ILP Design- Prezi

For this independent learning project I decided to make a Prezi. I have not made one before, however I have messed around with the website before. Prezi is PowerPoint with a fun twist. Instead of slides it is set up like a concept map and you can add ideas and talk about different things within those ideas. The platform is overall very great and I was very pleased with how my project turned out. Click here to check out my project!

I believe as a teacher I will collect data using surveys rather frequently. I plan on teaching 10th grade history and I can use surveys and keep excel sheets about how the students are doing and how they feel the curriculum supports what they are learning. I can give the students surveys to see what I need to work on and what the students are learning best. I have learned some very interesting skills when doing my assignments with excel and surveys I can use when teaching. We have blogged about some very interesting topics throughout this semester. My favorite topics include the student researched technology. I believe I have gotten some very good tech recommendations. We have learned and talked about many different apps like diigo, google classroom, and other productivity apps and extensions. I would have never found these apps without this class. I now use diigo on an everyday basis. I believe I would next really like to focus on coding and website development. I believe I learne...

"The Flipped Classroom" is a very interesting concept. It essentially is a learner-central method, it focuses more on the learner and it can help explore topics in more depth. There is usually educational technologies used outside of the classroom for supplemental support. Online lectures and learning resources are used and then what is learned outside of the classroom is applied in critical thinking activities and group work/discussions in class. Open Educational Resources (OER) are resources that are publicly licensed, which means they are free to use. This makes me smile. Learning is so important however, it can cost a myriad amount of money. This is terrible because we are keeping knowledge and resources from people who cannot afford it, and the population that would benefit the most from learning. I found this resource titled OER Commons, you can check out the website here . This is a public digital library of open educational resources. The part I checked out is the l...

I have been very impressed with Diigo and the overall idea and function of it. I really do not like reading things online because I cannot highlight and annotate, however, Diigo allows me to do that. I now use Diigo everyday throughout my classwork. I use it to highlight and take notes on any important information I encounter. I also like how I can bookmark the website I am looking at and have all my articles in one place. I also enjoy the group or social aspect of it. This is great for any classes, even book clubs or extracurricular activities. This is good because people can read different articles and share the important info with the people in their group, it is great for sharing info. PowerPoint can help analyze, evaluate, and apply information, as Bloom Taxonomy states. PowerPoint is a great supplemental tool to give a visual of the information you are given. PowerPoint should not be used as just a bunch of slides with a bunch of words and people speaking directly off of the sl...

For this blog post I first visited my old high school website but there were not teacher pages on there, which I thought was interesting because we used to have some there. I asked my sister and she said that they use a third party system, something like Canvas, for their class pages. I then headed to https://www.leonschools.net/leon to explore some of their teacher pages. All of them look pretty similar. They are listed by teacher name, then on the side there is a navigation bar where you can pick which class of theirs you’d like to see. On a lot of the pages there are student resources. I was using Mrs. Susan Crawford’s ( https://www.leonschools.net/Domain/4307 ) home page. The only information I was really able to see was some AP documents and forms and a few note sheets, as well as AP Exam tips. I was also able to see the class calendar, I could only see announcements for the AP class. Hopefully they can see a lot more with a login or they have a supplemental app or webs...

ILP #1 "Design"- Google Classroom

For this part of the project I used Google Classroom. Like with every other google program, I was blown away. The interface is very easily accessible. I was able to make assignments, post material, and even ask discussion questions. It was very easy and fluid to navigate through the website. I was able to fix mistakes I made very easily. I was able to customize what the students can see and manage their work. There is also a place for grading when students submit their work. You can even “reuse” posts whenever you want to send the students a reminder of the post. Overall, I was very impressed with this program and plan to use it in the future.   Here is a link to the Google Classroom: https://classroom.google.com/c/MjI3NDI3NTgxNTJa
